Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

We collect only information reasonably needed to provide, secure, and improve ExcelStocks.

• Optional account information supplied by an authentication provider, such as an account identifier, name, email address, and profile image.
• Community content, feedback, comments, chat messages, reports, and the nickname you choose.
• Technical and usage information such as IP address, browser and device details, timestamps, security events, and feature interactions.
• Settings, watchlists, portfolio entries, and similar data stored locally or synchronized to your account.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide sign-in, synchronization, portfolio, community, feedback, and AI briefing features.
• Protect the service, detect abuse, enforce community rules, and respond to reports.
• Diagnose errors, measure performance, and improve the product.
• Respond to verified account and privacy requests.

3. Cookies, analytics, and browser storage

ExcelStocks uses cookies, localStorage, and IndexedDB for sessions, guest identity, preferences, watchlists, portfolio data, onboarding status, and synchronization. Clearing browser data can sign you out or remove locally stored data.

If an analytics identifier is configured, ExcelStocks uses analytics to measure site performance and understand feature usage.

4. Service providers

We may use third-party providers for authentication, email delivery, hosting, database infrastructure, analytics, market data, news links, and AI processing. They process information under their own terms and privacy practices and only as needed to provide their services.

5. Disclosure

We do not sell personal information for money. We may disclose information to service providers, when you direct us to do so, to protect users or the service, in connection with an organizational transaction, or when required by valid legal process.

6. Retention and deletion

Account information and synchronized settings are retained while your account remains active and are deleted when you use the account-deletion control, subject to limited security and legal exceptions.

Public posts and briefings may remain after account deletion under the name “Deleted user.” Delete public content before deleting your account if you also want it removed.

Automatically flagged chat text, IP address, and user agent are isolated from live chat and deleted after 365 days. A documented legal hold may preserve a specific record for longer when required by law.

Other records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for service delivery, security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your account controls

Signed-in users can download a copy of their account data or permanently delete their account from Settings. Account deletion removes sign-in credentials, sessions, synchronized settings, and the account profile, and anonymizes retained public authorship.

Guests can remove locally stored preferences and identifiers by clearing ExcelStocks site data in their browser.

9. Privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, or to restrict or object to certain processing. Use the signed-in account controls where available. We may need to verify your identity for requests that cannot be completed through those controls.

10. Children

ExcelStocks is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service or applicable requirements change. Material updates will be announced through the service when appropriate. General questions may be submitted through the Feedback Box, but do not post personal information there because feedback is public.
